Filming a virtual concert for @bbcclick at the Performance Laboratory Royal College of Music. The audience of Unreal Engine avatars can be made to give standing ovations, or bored claps and coughs, all to help students learn to handle the realities of performing live.
Following on our Arts and Humanities Research Council Performance Laboratories upgrade, we've been hard at work over the last three weeks moving the smaller of our two Royal College of Music Labs to a new space in the heart of the building, doubling our capacity to study and train performance with the latest tech.
Many thanks to Paul and Sammy from Target3D | The Mechanics Behind Creativity for installing our new 9-camera OptiTrack motion capture system in one of the new Royal College of Music Performance Laboratories. Exciting days ahead as we help expert performers learn how they move under pressure.
