Not bad for a night shift. Spoilt with 4 hrs on station. Come work in Ōtautahi and enjoy the views and down time as well 😁

Clinical education day playing with the new defib and duel sequential defibrillation. Will be interesting to see how this goes in the real world

Privileged to be presenting at the region burns forum on Hato Hone St John capacity and burn guidelines. Great to network and share the prehospital story which is often forgotten but can hold some of the biggest impact on patient outcome

Question for the prehospital masses. If you need to gain entry to a property does your service routinely require police to be present? We do not require it yet most crews will not progress without.

This whole DSD thing makes paperwork a little bizarre. 40 shocks in an arrest is counter intuitive but with DSD the numbers get up there. Unfortunately we were unsuccessful this time around. Will be interesting to see how the statistics go with it being rolled out in 🤔

Interesting perspective. Pseudo PEA IMO could be one of the biggest areas of gain in the pre-hospital setting. There is some interesting work on POCUS occuring in this area but in the short term what could we change?

After 2.5 months of no nights due to settling in with our real life tamagotchi it is back to the DDNN roster. Nice to be back supporting staff and patients on the ECHO unit. Haven’t missed it but still nice to be back. PS fatherhood is pretty cool 😁

After our TheResusRoom episode on refractory VF, it’s interesting to read that Hato Hone St John have adopted both DSD and withholding adrenaline into their clinical practice guidelines (not that I think our episode influenced this decision of course! Eyes are on you now NZ 👀

Back into research for my MPrac (Paramedicine) This time looking at NOF mortality rates / morbidity for rural vs urban and whether as a sector, we should be transporting direct to orthopaedic centres. Delays at peripheral centres are significant! #PrehospitalResearch #PhDNext

In the space of 12 hours I’ve met a kid, 4.5 yrs after I helped deliver and resuscitate them at their birth And shook the hand of a man that was clinically dead for 20 min the day before This job has its moments and today was one of them. It’s a privilege. #ParamedicLife

First Union members continue with withdrawl of labour for the first time in AoNZ Paramedic history. The funding system is broken and I encourage you all (AoNZ based) to consider signing this petition. Why is a national service still a charity... together.org.nz/full_ambulance…
