At an event featuring performances from comedians, RFK quips that he sees a common link with him and the comics: Both RFK and the performers, he said, “come from families that wish they had a different job,” referencing the Kennedy family members who endorsed Biden this week.

Outside RFK’s event in Michigan today, Biden supporters are waving signs calling his campaign a “MAGA Clown Show” and a spoiler for Trump. Many of the demonstrators tell me they volunteer with grassroots Dem-aligned groups like Indivisible, Moms Demand Action and Fems For Dems.

RFK Jr. has officially qualified for the ballot in Michigan, Aaron Pellish reports.

The campaign announced today that Kennedy and his running mate Nicole Shanahan were nominated by the Natural Law Party, a minor party with ballot access in the state.

The RFK campaign says it’s gathered enough signatures to appear on the ballot in Iowa. Prior to RFK’s remarks, the campaign organized the crowd into a “nominating convention” to draft Kennedy and Nicole Shanahan to represent the We The People Party on the state’s ballot.

Ahead of his event in West Des Moines, IA, RFK’s campaign is collecting signatures from attendees in a push to gain ballot access in the state through a process unique to Iowa. The campaign needs 500 “delegates” (any voting-age IA resident) to attend today’s event to qualify.
