.Aaron Fitt is ALL IN on Trav Bazzana, the first overall pick in the #MLBDraft ⤵️
Sure, it's draft night, but I'm already on to next year - catching some Cape League action in Chatham. Kennesaw State Baseball RHP Tanner Franklin has a chance to be a big-time draft next year if he can hone his control - 6-5, 240, loose, and real stuff: 92-96 with cut, legit SL and CB.
Missed this - Tanner Franklin, whom I just tweeted about, transferred to Tennessee Baseball. Great get.
Luke Jackson is an exciting breakout candidate for Texas A&M Baseball next year - he's looked great tonight for Orleans. Strong, athletic frame, 92-95 with ride, flashes a plus slider at 84-87, huge velo separation with his 74-76 change, which is a useful pitch. Showed poise too.
RECRUITING ALERT: 2️⃣6️⃣ hs players on Day 1 •SEC w/ 14 •ACC crushed in 2nd round (8 total) Wake Forest & Virginia w/ biggest blows. Cautiously optimistic: •Tennessee •FSU •Clemson Kendall Rogers || Aaron Fitt || #MLBDraft
It's good to see a healthy Trent Caraway doing good things in the Cape League. He is raking tonight: 2-run homer that went 411 feet, double to gap (102 EV), then stole home on a first-and-third play. Love that bat; expect him to have a big 2025 for Oregon State Baseball.
I keep running into intriguing Stanford Baseball prospects here on the Cape, but none more intriguing than Joey Volchko, one of the prized arms that showed up last year. 6-4, 210 with a bazooka: pumping 95-99, flashing the makings of an easy plus slider at 86-90. #HeatSheet Alert!
Excellent day here in Bristol at The New England League all-star game, where the East team shut out the West 3-0. Plenty of intriguing breakout candidates and prospects on display - will have in-depth notes this week. Talented Vanderbilt Baseball catcher Colin Barczi (who had an RBI single) gets MVP.
PROSPECT RUNDOWN: Here's my look at some standout performers, emerging prospects and breakout candidates that caught my eye at this week's The New England League All-Star game: d1baseball.com/summer-basebal…

Kicking off my fall ball travels at UConn Baseball, which is hosting UConn-Avery Point. Lots of familiar veterans from last year's super regional club are back in the fold for Huskies, including Gabe Van Emon and Ian Cooke (pictured), who have combined to cruise through 3 hitless.
Today I'm at Northeastern Baseball, where I hear Cam Maldonado has been "electric" early this fall, on the heels of his standout Cape season. Looked great in BP today, then ripped a single off Aiven Cabral in his first AB today and promptly stole 2nd. Power and speed; exciting talent.
The most impressive pitcher for Northeastern Baseball today has been veteran lefty Jack Bowery, who led Harwich in innings during a strong summer. He fanned all 4 batters he faced today, showing outstanding feel for a swing/miss changeup and a quality slider, while bumping 90 with FB.
