4:47 PM SEVERE STORM UPDATE: A broken line of storms is now merging east of OKC. A few areas are severe with gusts to 60 possible and quarter size hail. The heaviest storms extend from near Luther, Jones, to Norman to Newcastle. Also severe weather forming west of Tuttle.

We continue to track showers & storms across the state with heavy rain, dangerous lightning, & gusty winds. A few storms could produce winds over 60mph thru sunset. After sunset the storms will generally start to weaken. Storm movement is very slow & drifting S at 5 mph #okwx

Fifteen days ago, there was post after post hyping Hurricane Erin striking Florida. No recourse. Just move on to the next fifteen day model output of another storm over Florida. That is hurricane season on social media. What ever it takes to generate clicks. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
