Fabricating & testing them notwithstanding, we're not sure what's more fun- developing creative aerodynamic solutions... or evaluating them in the CFD environment! Engineering is as much of an Art as it is a Science. EAA NASA Aeronautics Dan Johnson Fibre Glast

It's time to step up. A New Era in Light Aviation Awaits. Get in. EAA KITPLANES Dan Johnson FreeCAD (CAD+CAM+FEA)

This is mega. That 2.0L turbo I-6 is beyond ideal for our Phoenix prototype. And the timing looks to be perfect. We're in, Kawasaki USA . We'll be more than happy to be a testbed for you. youtu.be/k8hlM3eT4rs

Why this isn't being circulated like it should be for the big deal it is, is a crime. This is no underfunded startup; this is a major industry player that can pull this off! EAA AOPA Dan Johnson Plane&Pilot Magazine KITPLANES FLYING Magazine

A major component of aircraft design is powerplant selection, evaluating a variety of capabilities & limitations against mission requirements. The Phoenix project just passed that milestone. Welcome aboard, BRP-Rotax ! EAA Dan Johnson FreeCAD (CAD+CAM+FEA)

Since we haven't posted anything of much substance lately, how about an early render of the Phoenix's shape? She has evolved greatly since; this took us a few hours with FreeCAD (CAD+CAM+FEA) , then was put through the paces in the OpenFOAM environment!

CAD Speedmodeling eSports. What a great place to further validate FreeCAD (CAD+CAM+FEA) ? We might just have to form a team! youtu.be/bzBaJnuyvLg

Thanks to the new Assembly WB in FreeCAD (CAD+CAM+FEA) , the development of the Phoenix's retractable landing gear is going smoothly, allowing us to iterate accurately & quickly. In fact, we ran a 'v0.1' gear on the OML and did a first CFD simulation earlier today! FreeCAD rocks!
