Because what’s the point of constantly selling out yourself and other people in precarious situations? To keep being pulled towards normalized evil for the sake of pragmatism. At some point you’ll rationalize the worst possible thing and the there’s no coming back.

If the carbon tax really does end up going down and politicians genuinely care about minimizing costs on individuals then we're pretty much giving up the fight on climate. The entire point of a carbon tax is that it is the single lowest cost way to reduce emissions.

Jagmeet Singh attacking carbon pricing in Canada is a betrayal of his own party. It’s cynical because there’s no doubt that he knows it’s important public policy for climate change mitigation, but he’s attacking it anyway using Conservative talking points. nationalobserver.com/2024/09/12/opi…

Summer covid surge, 2024, should be the final nail in the coffin of "population-wide hybrid-immunity" to covid, we just witnessed this house-of-cards theory collapse in real time, millions acquiring long covid, and tens of thousands dying as a result of over-reliance

The discourse around carbon tax is maddening. Last year, our house used 80 GJ of natural gas & 3500L of gas, which works out to $830 in carbon tax. Our rebate is $1800. I realize not everyone is in the same boat, but ppl talk like we're all getting hosed and it's just...not true.
