Excited to share our latest work, where we produce sets with both statistical coverage and high decision utility. Applied to dermatological diagnosis, our method yields sets with coherent diagnostic meaning 🏥. More details in the thread 🧵👇

🧵 on surprising revelations from our study of specialized foundation models (FMs beyond vision/text): after evaluating dozens of scientific & time series FMs we found that most weren’t even competitive with simple supervised models, some with as little as 513 parameters. 1/n

Do you work with text data for your job or research? We’d love to talk to you! We're running a paid user study at CMU to understand how people explore and visualize text data while programming—and to gather feedback on our new open-source visualization tool. Details below 👇

There isn't as much talk as I'd have thought on small/local models. Gemma 3 27b running locally on ollama + enchanted mac app is about as good as ChatGPT was a year ago. You can have a compressed offline internet on your laptop.

Was pretty excited to use this for ADME prediction from chemical structure, but initial results aren't encouraging - quick test on protein plasma binding using 27B model, lots of odd, constant predictions. To be fair, SOTA on this task w/ a specific model isn't much better.

Announcing Axiom: Eliminating drug toxicity, without using animals! Alex Beatson and I founded Axiom a little over over a year ago with the mission of eliminating drug toxicity by replacing traditional experiments, such as animal testing, with AI models. We are excited to

Today we're launching DuckLake, an integrated data lake and catalog format powered by SQL. DuckLake unlocks next-generation data warehousing where compute is local, consistency central, and storage scales till infinity. DuckLake is an open standard and we've implemented it in

Introducing the OpenHands CLI, a new coding CLI that: - Has top accuracy (similar to Claude Code) - Is completely open source, MIT licensed - Is model agnostic, use an API or bring your own - Is simple to install and run `pip install openhands-ai` and `openhands` (no Docker!)

To replace animal testing with AI, we need MASSIVE human datasets. Today, we're thrilled to share Axiom's new data exploration tool, providing the ability to visually explore the world's largest primary human liver toxicity dataset. Built with Axiom's proprietary wetlab
