It’s out! Pleasure to co-author this piece w/ my colleague Soha Macktoom & Jamie Cross . On the politics of shade in urban South Asia… inspired by lthe work of the late, great Mike Davis on heat & shade. We introduce a conceptual framework for thinking about politics of shade.
And after a long wait, it is finally out!! My paper, co-authored with Prof Nausheen H Anwar and Jamie Cross has been published in Urban Studies, which talks about the ways in which street vendors negotiate shade in the changing urban climate of Karachi.
