In terms of benchmarks OpenAI's O3 model is almost equal to DeepSeek R1 but practical usage is telling a different story. For me DeepSeek is providing way more useful answers than O3. There are outages due to heavy usage but I'm optimistic it will be fixed soon by DeepSeek.

With this sudden boom in vibe coding and AI based code writing it seems development teams have completely thrown security out of the window. The entire focus is on getting the feature vibe coded asap and get it into production. Application Security Teams can't possibly keep up.

I can't remember it exactly but i think i have read it in a reddit engineering blog that a team of only 4 appsec engineers manage the entire application security of the platform. This is so cool , I'd love to know how exactly are they able to do this.

One thing i have realized after interacting with university students during cybersecurity recruitment drive is that AI is making them dumb. Instead of leveraging AI to solve the problem, they are delegating everything to AI and doing nothing themselves.
