Dear Mark Harper There is only one "blanket 20mph limit" local authority in the whole of the UK and its in the City of Westminster covering all their roads, including the 'A' road outside Houses of Parliament. Put there by Conservatives to protect MP and government staff.

I'm a motorist & I don't feel like a victim of war. When I'm on my bike I do. When I'm walking I do. When I nervously let my kids go to the park by themselves I do. Sunak and co. need to remember that there are millions of us out here that are more than drivers. #SafeStreetsNow

Interesting new “Report on Motoring” from The RAC. Its research finds: - Staggering 30% of drivers aged 17-24 admit to making video calls while driving - 49% of drivers cite biggest concern is condition of local roads, high scores for poor driving/road safety - 55%,

This makes for intriguing - if rather depressing reading - on where opposition to Wales default 20mph limit is driven not by local people but by those looking to score political points many miles away. 20s plenty and has long attracted cross-party consensus as it makes sense.

And the transformation of Paris into a city for people not cars continues - and a great (French) quote, a reminder that the domination of our cities’ great public squares and avenues by vehicles is a historical moment that can and will pass.
