Permission granted after a permission hearing today in the case of a young adult who had requested Indefinite Leave to Remain as part of her Leave to Remain extension application. SSHD failed to engage with her ILR request and we issued JR. Grateful to Rajiv Sharma for his help

We made a fresh ILR application for the appellant in the COA test case of R (Mujahid) v FTT (IAC) supported by detailed evidence addressing the dishonesty allegation in respect of his tax affairs (which he was never given a prior opportunity to address). Client granted ILR today!

I am a dutch, widowed parent, of a British child. I live in the UK on a parent visa and my daughter is happily growing up here, near my late wife's family and our friends. Last week Home Office cancelled my right to be here. In error. A thread to put the record straight.

🚨 BREAKING - The Court of Appeal has ruled that sending refugees to Rwanda is unlawful. It’s time the Government gave up on its obsession with punishing refugees and focussed on its first responsibility - to ensure a fair and effective asylum system. theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/j…

Our client has been granted a Skilled Worker visa today after an initial refusal which was overturned following our Pre-Action Protocol letter. Grateful to our counsel Rowena Moffatt for her guidance on this very complex case. ITN Solicitors

Supreme Court decides that the government’s Rwanda policy is unlawful. An incredible result which restores faith in the British justice system and offers a semblance of hope to migrants forced to flee their homes and make desperate journeys to these shores!

So, what about the Supreme Court’s Rwanda ruling? What next? First, the ruling. The SC delivered an emphatic decision that UK asylum seekers sent to Rwanda will face a real risk of being sent back to their countries of origin.

Just when you thought things could not get any worse for migrants and their families, there’s yet more Orwellian news from this government. The minimum threshold for the Spouse visa is set to increase from £18,600 a year to 38,700 a year. ITN Solicitors

An asylum caseworker just told me the UK govt’s claim today to have cleared the asylum legacy backlog is ‘figure manipulation’ – & we can see it from the data They also said they've been told to rush through cases despite knowing the decisions might be wrong Quick thread 🧵

May Bulman Alarming trends we have seen since October: 1.Reps often not being informed of asylum interview dates. 2. Decisions made without service of interview records. 3. Time extensions requests to send clarifications following interviews being ignored. 4. Poorly drafted refusal letters!

Two amazing results today: grant of asylum to a female lawyer from Pakistan fleeing gender-based violence after her asylum appeal was allowed & grant of ILR to a client after a 7 year long legal battle in a 322(5) tax case. Grateful to our counsels Rowena Moffatt Zane Malik QC
