Congratulations to Sihyun from the Wilmanns Group EMBL Hamburg and collaborators on this work, out now in Nature Communications 🍾 Impressive work elucidating the molecular mechanism of this enzyme complex with structural biology. 💫 rdcu.be/ckxEr 👈

Very excited to share a new paper from the lab where we fabricate nanowells to image single proteins present at high protein concentration in living cells. Led by @SoraY from my lab and through an amazing collaboration with the cees dekker lab. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Very happy to share our new paper in ACS Nano, done in close collaboration with cees dekker. We develop Zero-mode waveguide nanowells to image single proteins in live cells with much better signal-to-background (>10-fold) than confocal or TIRF. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

Problems with too high fluorescent background? Single-molecule live-cell imaging in presence of high cytosolic background enabled by zero-mode waveguide nanowells by cees dekker Marvin Tanenbaum Read it here 🔗 go.acs.org/6uq

Studying the structure of proteins is fascinating, especially when you can watch them in motion. In this interview, Sihyun Sung, Postdoctoral Fellow at EMBL Hamburg, talks about making molecular movies with time-resolved serial X-ray crystallography. embl.org/news/lab-matte…

Two new lab papers: In the first paper we develop Stopless-ORF circRNAs (socRNAs), a technique to measure translation by individual ribosomes with incredible precision. Amazing work jointly led by Max Madern and Sora Yang. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Impressive work on ribosomes from the Tanenbaum lab, showing also that ribosomes move at different speeds. Also pointer to Marvin's second post: Great PD Sora Yang is on the jobmarket this year!
