If you are a multi billion dollar company and are concerned about log4j, why not just email OSS authors you never paid anything and demand a response for free within 24 hours with lots of info? (company name redacted for *my* peace of mind)
How do staff/principal/senior engineers (some of the most experienced engineers in an organization) get "stuck"?

Going into startups, no one tells you that fighting is part of the job.
At Replit, the toughest people we have to fight are dark web hackers.
One time we went head-to-head against an underground group doing really bad things on our service -- this is the story:
I have spent all of my 20s & now half of my 30s building a startup.
If you are seeing any progress, it's because I never gave up, learnt from failures & kept going.

BUT, here's the deal:
DON'T just make moves that are the "best" for your career, but also those that are the best for your life :)
Burnout is not a mental illness.

Burnout therefore is a workplace safety issue.
Unless we consider burnout an issue of workplace safety, we will never move from individual resilience focus to workplace solutions.
Met someone from my town I've known since childhood, in Tokyo.
He was someone who struggled so much with academics and with the stigma that comes with being poor academically.
Looked down upon by pretty much everybody, he was essentially 'written off'.
