In Act III, Miranda states to Ferdinand, “If you'll sit down, I'll bear your logs the while: pray, give me that; I'll carry it to the pile”. She is seen as empowered here, wanting to break the stereotypical gender boundaries. #powerandcontrol #Shakespeare

“You return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust and to dust you shall return” (Genesis 3:19) No matter one’s age, death will always be a moment of reflection. A life well lived is certainly saddening, but inspirational for lifetimes. (NOLS pic)

Today in class we listened to David Foster Wallace's 2005 Commencement Address "This is Water." I loved his insight on self-awareness and -centeredness, that we must take perspective and put ourselves in others' shoes. This is something I will take with me to college and beyond!
