Gloria Ladson-Billings in CRP articulated 3 tenets - academic success, affirming Ss culture in T/L & social consciousness. Ss advocating for themselves example of building social & critical consciousness.

At school, Black students should feel like they are *not* one durag or hoop earring away from suspension. They should feel affirmed and able to express their individuality, not suppressed, surveilled, and policed.

At school, Black students should feel like they should have more than 1 or 2 staff in the building that look like them and understands their needs. They should feel that representation especially in the building where they learn & grow everyday from K-12 is the NORM Peel District School Board
