We don’t talk enough about how poverty creates lifelong trauma responses even when you’re sort of financially stable. Forcing yourself to finish a meal when full, stashing money in places for if things go west, you literally become fearful of going broke

Does anyone just cart the same load of books home, back into school, then home again knowing deep down you can’t face marking them 🥲

I think if I were to leave teaching it would be due to the toll of public perception of the profession. Not the workload or pressure. Teacher bashing is honestly so exhausting, and so 2020.

I've had a bunch of close friends leave teaching and start working in the private sector. Without fail, every single one of them says they are less stressed, their work/life balance is better, and their mental health is better, even though some are making less money. 1/

😣😣 I want to write about how society is OBSESSED with consuming the trauma of black people under the guise of “educating” people on history. Awful idea for a film

Right crucify me for this but at what point do we question what’s left for the the family and wider community to teach? Every single thing can’t be learnt at school, it’s not the nature of life??
