50M is peanuts for affordable housing. So ridiculously small it's clearly designed to just be there to bury the lede on the criminalization of homelessness.

It's always been bonkers that #ldnont, a so-called 'leader' on homelessness issues, doesn't have 24H warming centres in the dead of winter. But this year, it's especially cruel. I know we all want long-term solutions, but can we all agree we'd like everyone to survive til then?

Evidence shows that the majority of cold-related injuries happen at temperatures ABOVE -15C: maphealth.ca/homeless-cold-… The sheer attendance shows the need for this emergency warming centre. #LDNont should keep it open until temperatures are consistently above zero, at minimum.
