As artist in residence for Born in Bradford - Age of Wonder - teenage stories , I met extraordinary Zahra 12, we made her portrait and I interviewed her about her life. I will be making portraits and interviewing a selection of these young people every year for the next 6 years.
Visited Carolyn Mendelsohn FRSA's studio yesterday. So wonderful to see all of her Age of Wonder: Teenage Stories portraits all together. These portraits are made annually and document young people's journeys through adolescence.
As part of my work with Born in Bradford as Artist In Residence for Age of Wonder - I am also doing a satellite project with young people I have made format portraits with. Here is a selection - Jahzara, Sachel, Frances and Jasminder. #ThePlaceILikeToBe #TheThingsILikeToDo

A new series of portraits of #Bradford teenagers had been unveiled at the Bradford Royal Infirmary. They’re taken by photographer Carolyn Mendelsohn FRSA as part of the Born in Bradford Age of Wonder Teenage Stories. I spoke to those involved for BCB 106.6fm - catch my interviews later today after 5pm
Have to say the portraits add a really human touch where so often hospitals have rather anonymous neutral artwork on the walls. One nurse said she loved going to see them in her break. Find them on the level 1 corridor near Outpatients West. Dr Kate Lightfoot
