Call me nostalgic, but there really were historical periods where you didn't have to look at a picture of a 'clown dance' & wonder, When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?

Where I come from, we love St. Catherine of Siena.
This is the cover of my dad's favorite book, lovingly held together somewhere by duct tape.
Once upon a time, I wrote my college sr. essay about a Middle English translation of Catherine's Dialogue for nuns.

Abortion is so, so hard to talk about. I still remember how - when I found out 2 college friends were pro-abortion, & I couldn't convince them otherwise - I broke down & cried.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, help us to pray, fast, & witness for the unborn.

This is just a vague hunch, but I think the pope who will restore Tradition will be the one *after* the next pope. I don't think people are ready for such a pope yet - but I think they will be, as events in the world & Church accelerate.

That feeling when the reddish-gold light staining the buildings outside makes you think of Heaven, & of being an exile

'We were terrified beyond all else by the disastrous state of human society today. For who can fail to see that society is at the present time, more than in any past age, suffering from a terrible and deep-rooted malady which...is dragging it to destruction?'
-St. Pius X, 1903

“My wife prayed for years for my eventual conversion”
“I myself have prayed and fasted for my father for over 50 years. I will not stop”

I like to devote plenty of posts to the beauty of Catholicism, but sometimes it’s necessary to talk about more radioactive material. This piece is an important, unsettling read that asks questions we are not supposed to ask about this pontificate.

Have you ever prayed/fasted for someone's conversion & had it take years? My devout Catholic father says this can be the case & Ven. Fulton Sheen says some souls are 'expensive'...so I'm wondering if anyone has a story about a slow, long, difficult conversion of a loved one.

I propose a synod on non-synodality starring champions of rigidity, dedicated to Our Lady, Exterminatrix of All Heresies

I have two questions I never got to ask the AI 'priest.'
1. Is Amoris Laetitia orthodox?
2. What does the pope mean when he says we should be 'athletes of...synodality'?
