Such a warm welcome from the Southern trust. Can’t wait to get started on clinical placement here! Was great hearing about some of the learning opportunities to get involved in.

Last day of teaching in university today, loved the skills day. Had such a lovely lunch and chat with my colleagues/classmates and the RCM staff. A lovely treat before first placement. #excited

All ready for placement 1 - Community. First crease put into my trousers - I’m very particular with my crease 🤣 Love these mini books for placement especially the survival guides as all the pages can be wiped so great for putting into tunic pockets. #studentmidwife #midwifery

My first saving babies lives training day. Hopefully many more to come. Really enjoyed this day. So thankful my trust area is so welcoming and including students in CPD days. Only 2 weeks left of placement 1 and I don’t want to leave! #studentmidwife

An early Christmas gift - My first PROMPT CPD. Got to do a bit of ‘acting’ for the simulations, was brilliant to try and see it from a patient perspective as a student. Southern trust couldn’t be any more welcoming and including of students! Really feel like part of the team.

Cannot believe I got to attend this fantastic event today. An honour to hear from Professor Mary Renfew and learn more about her work. Amazing to be in a room full of people passionate about delivering the best possible care. Really feel as a student I can contribute to change.

Had a lecture on Blood Transfusion yesterday. This evening donated blood. #3livessaved

Storms aren’t all that bad. Finally got to finish this book. I managed to squeeze in a trip to Auschwitz at Christmas and couldn’t stop thinking of the midwife and nurse in this book. Had a little games tournament with my best friend and my biggest inspiration. #studentmidwife

Had the best finish to my 2nd block of teaching. A lovely social get together for care experienced students from the WPU team at Queen’s. I went for a midwifery baby feet theme to mark the start of my labour ward placement. Can’t wait to see it after the kiln QUB WPU Queen's University Belfast 🎓

A great day demonstrating and explaining some of my midwifery skills to our future healthcare hero’s. Great to see so many young people interested and excited by midwifery. Fantastic to see how simulation is used throughout Queen’s.
