Not just the headline, this entire New York Times article on the man who just self immolated does mentioned his comments that he can no longer be complicit in genocide. Not once. It does not mention any direct connection between his action and Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

Listen, I love local news, but I feel so much cognitive dissonance when I see folks tweeting about layoffs and the decline of the industry while staying absolutely silent on the murder of hundreds of Palestinian journalists

There was a video a few days ago where a man in Gaza found a small boy sleeping in the middle of a road at night, he picked him up and took him somewhere safe and the boy told him all his family were killed and he slept on the unlit road in the hope someone would run him over

NYT reporter’s social media feed was so genocidal that this fall one of the tweets she liked wound up in South Africa’s filing before The Hague. Imagine being Palestinian and learning she was then assigned to cover the war and shape public opinion
