Behind millions of successful men is an abortion they don’t regret getting with their partner. I urge men to go beyond solidarity and talk about how they’ve personally benefited from abortion rights too. Not because it’s the right thing you to do, because it’s true!

There is an empirically rigorous econ lit on the economic consequences of limiting or overturning Roe, reviewed in the amicus brief to the recent Dobbs case: "...ample evidence indicates that Roe is causally connected to women’s advancements in social and economic life."

In America today, child care workers are some of the lowest paid workers in the country—making an average of $13.31 an hour—and half of all families live in child care deserts. Federally funding child care will create jobs, stimulate the economy, & give parents crucial support.

I was accepted at @cornell as a PhD student in the 1980s but went to University of Michigan instead bc I was also a cancer patient who needed health insurance and grad students at UM were unionized and had it. Without Grad Employees' Org UMich I wouldn’t be a biologist. Wake up, Cornell. Carry on, Cornell University_GSU!

I don’t post much on here but felt compelled to say the understanding the stagnating gender wage gap is crucial toward moving us to gender equality on many fronts. Women’s financial inequality to me (a woman) is quite the important question to solve. Sad to see this take.

I once asked a highly productive mathematician their secret for writing so many papers. They said it was one part talent, one part hard work, and the other part having a spouse who cooks, cleans, does laundry, manages the finances, buys groceries, and looks after the kids.

For Mother’s Day I’m reposting this great tweet deck my co-author made about how external systems demand more of moms than dads. Working on new updates that make the tie to labor market inequality even clearer!

Fun fact -- How many times did I run into my male colleagues who got the same number of clock stops as me in the pumping suite at conferences? Zero. How about at glucose testing, blood draws, and biweekly, then weekly OB appts? Also zero.
