You know those models that generate fake but realistic faces and let you change e.g. hair color or glasses with a slider? You can make this work on SNES games by learning blocks of pixels (sprites) and explicitly encoding location. Dima Smirnov at #NeurIPS2021
A fun collaboration with Chloe LeGendre, Xueming Yu, and Paul Debevec! Looking forward to presenting this next month at the DigiPro conference in LA, right before SIGGRAPH.
Watching Prof. Lin Lu’s (Shandong U) keynote at GMP and my day is made! Her team used DeepCurrents from my former students David Palmer+Dima Smirnov and collaborators @agrograndma Albert Chern to design materials. Exciting to see when tools actually get adopted (and work?!).
