To maximize adoption, policymakers should make the easy to redeem but not overly generous, and they should target them toward residents with low (but not the lowest) incomes.

Interesting looking paper - hopefully Open Access soon?

Excited to announce a new paper on incentives and their effectiveness at stimulating adoption. TL;DR agencies should think clearly to pair goals of a program with the costs of moving the needle on e-bike adoption. John MacArthur LEVER UTK CTR sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Traffic on UK roads must drop by at least 20% in the next 6 years to meet the Climate Change Committee plan📉

Electrifying cars isn't enough. We need to build radical futures where people have a real choice of transport options for their everyday lives

Electrified heat and transport:
- energy demand reduction policies mitigate need for reinforcement overall, but reinforcement of the power system still necessary in some areas
- flexibility combined with demand reduction have huge network benefits

'We're not Amsterdam, people don't cycle here.' But they used to. And in huge numbers. I did this graph showing the doubling in transportation cycling in the mid-1930s. Graph done for my 120,000-word study at britishcycletracks.com
