Congratulations to our 2024 #TinyGrants awardees (our 6th cohort!!): Mengyun Sun, Ashley Cao, Gescilam Mota, Ryoko Araki, and Charlie Devine! π₯³ The program helps offset the costs of attending AGU (American Geophysical Union) Fall Meeting for early-career ecohydrologists!.

What an incredible group for our first Ecohydro lunch meet up of the week at #AGU24! We still have open spots for Thursday and Friday, join us! AGU (American Geophysical Union) Hydrology Section AGU

What an incredible night for Sasha Reed of USGS at #AGU24!π Sasha received the Joanne Simpson Medal and the AGU Union Fellowship! A true trailblazer, Sasha tackles pressing challenges like drought, rising temps, and energy options. Congrats, Sasha! π AGU (American Geophysical Union)

Excited to share our new #Nature article published yesterday. It showed that rainfall variability is almostΒ as important as total annual rainfall amount in determining global vegetation dynamics. Led by Andrew Feldman, with Konings, Pierre Gentine, WK Smith π, Poulter, and 4 others

We figured out how much water is in all of Earthβs plants and how long it takes water to flow through them. Answer: 786 km3 and 5-18 days. Nature Water Koen Hufkens (@[email protected]) Adam Purdy

Different combinations of temperature & humidity can cause the same VPD β does it happen in nature? YES, often! Do βhotβ and βdryβ VPD of the same magnitude affect ecosystem-scale fluxes of C and H2O differently? Sometimes. Iβm proud of this one; thanks to wonderful collabs!

I've covered agriculture, on and off, for 30 years. This involves talking to lots of farmers. You know what I've never heard? Not once? Farmers complain about USDA's Agricultural Research Service and its outreach programs--the ones Musk just randomly cut. breakthroughjournal.org/p/can-america-β¦
