Excited to share our new #Nature article published yesterday. It showed that rainfall variability is almost as important as total annual rainfall amount in determining global vegetation dynamics. Led by Andrew Feldman, with Konings, Pierre Gentine, WK Smith 🌎, Poulter, and 4 others

Different combinations of temperature & humidity can cause the same VPD β€” does it happen in nature? YES, often! Do β€œhot” and β€œdry” VPD of the same magnitude affect ecosystem-scale fluxes of C and H2O differently? Sometimes. I’m proud of this one; thanks to wonderful collabs!

I've covered agriculture, on and off, for 30 years. This involves talking to lots of farmers. You know what I've never heard? Not once? Farmers complain about USDA's Agricultural Research Service and its outreach programs--the ones Musk just randomly cut. breakthroughjournal.org/p/can-america-…
