Good news from Massachusetts- Gov. Healey has signed a bill that ends charges for communication for incarcerated people & their loved ones. The law sets a high bar for reform: 1. It extends to county jails, where phone rates are higher than in prisons (in every state).

Starting Dec. 1, incarcerated people will be able to make unlimited phone calls or use other communication services with their loved ones for free. The measure is key to enhancing rehabilitation, reducing recidivism, and improving community safety. berkshireeagle.com/state/incarcer…
