IHOPKC 7/I struggle to decide which is more important: picking up and repairing the broken from this ministry or batting away the wolves trying to rebuild. We need to to do both. And we need men, particularly with the influence like Bob Sorge, and we need to start seeing some balls.

Mike Winger I think one of the very worst examples of it is asking women to have faith for the healing of their addict/abuser husbands. There’s usually a very emotional prayer and deliverance session complete with words from God declaring his healing and the restoration of their marriage.

#JohnMacArthur was the subject of a lot of my blog reporting. I heard from more people connected with him, his church, schools, seminary, than any other church leader. The travesty is that those stories remained private, as requested. I hope his survivors begin to go public.

I won’t honor a man who is directly responsible for the physical and emotional abuse of untold wives in the name of poor hermeneutics.

When JMac did not protect abused women, he did not protect the flock of Christ, of which he was an undershepherd.

And while there are many great preachers/teachers other than this one, the church has not suffered from one man’s death. But many vulnerable women are less likely to be harmed now.

Because John MacArthur said the universe is a hierarchy of authority and submission to all men with evangelical pastors at the top, there is no “both-sides” of this conversation. He was the emperor. All women, children, and “lesser” men were under him. 1/5
