with the US election today, i don’t want to see or hear any “as a canadian” memes. our political landscape is almost as bad, and it’s getting worse because of trump/MAGA ideologies seeping in. the results of this election WILL affect canada. begging people to read the room.

IDK i think when an election has many many innocent people fearing for their lives or contemplating suicide something might be very very wrong

also keep making music and writing and art. make brave, individual, soul-bearing art. the strength of our creativity is the strength of the human spirit itself, and it is what fascism hates and fears- because art will always outlive it, every single time

“why are non americans so anxious” this will affect the entire world. “i’m not american i dont care” this will affect the entire world. “at least i’m not american” this will affect the entire world. NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE THIS ELECTION WILL AFFECT YOU, STOP BEING IGNORANT.

Strangely, it's moments like this that I feel most lucky to be queer. I think about our elders. How hopeless they must have felt. How easy it would have been to give up. But they fought for the life I get to live today. What an insult it would be, to them, to succumb to despair

This sounds frivolous in the grand scheme of things but we need to support archivists, protect public libraries, protect journalists, writers, artists, photographers, and filmmakers. We need to continue to keep culture alive and educate our youth.
