A favourite part of is fitting our breeding Curlew with GPS tags. These allow us incredibly personal insights into their daily lives, playing out onto our computer screens 👀 We get to see where their nests are, where they roost & where they winter

Our organic wildflower meadows, wild bird covers and diverse herbal leys are home to lots of interesting species. A nightime bird survey recently revealed 15 visiting woodcock feeding in just one field. It must be full of bugs and worms in the soil to attract that many.

We know that roads (esp major roads) pose a serious threat to Barn Owls but this is the first time we have recorded an entire brood killed on roads, 3 chicks ringed at a Cork nest in July 2020, all subsequently found dead on roads, the most recent on the M8 motorway this month

Not a lovely photo but this is the diet of a Goshawk. Photo taken by ⁦Harriet Robins⁩ retrieving one of our nest cameras as part of ⁦Gloucestershire Raptor Monitoring Group⁩ Goshawk colour ringing project (camera placed there during ringing of nest under licence)

Super photo taken in the Cotswolds yesterday of one of our colour-ringed Goshawk (thanks Rich Tyler). She was ringed last year as a chick a mere 3 miles away but it’s brilliant to know that she has survived the perilous first year Gloucestershire Raptor Monitoring Group Gareth Jones
