Reed Warblers are sometimes difficult to photograph when they first arrive as they tend to sing deep down in the reeds, but this one was collecting nest material.

Lots of small Marsh Frogs at Rainham Marshes, presumably last years young ones. Possibly still a big cold for the big ones.

When they had been eating dry pine cone seeds all the day these Crossbills were more than happy to drink from a muddy puddle.

I was wandering down the old road at Abberton when I came across this weak-flying insect with dangling legs. Apparently it is the Cuckoo Bee Nomada goodeniana of Andrena nigroaenea, the Buffish Mining Bee. Thanks to Simon Knott for the identification.
