I was one of the probationary employees from USDA ARS that got let go on Friday. If you or someone you know is hiring for a position that aligns with my background (molecular bio, microbiol, plant path, virology, RNAi), I would greatly appreciate any referrals or recommendations.

Physically doing science, not just being talked down to about it, would change a lot of people's minds. Part of the reason why folks are skeptical of scientific institutions is the moat between general public participation and the various fields of research.
