We have MICE coming through the bath panel (downstairs bathroom, old terraced house) and as if that wasn’t bad enough they ate my BREAKFAST. The audacity.

Okay WOW. Everyone knows I’m a soppy old thing, but not many books actually make me cry (the last one was Hamnet) - I totally lost it on page 360 of this though. Elizabeth Zott is bloody brilliant. Bonnie Garmus is incredible. Women are just phenomenal. Thank you and goodnight.

Both TV adaptations of Sally Rooney’s books have been phenomenal. I almost didn’t want to watch Conversations with Friends, because Normal People absolutely destroyed me and I didn’t think this one could live up to it. I was wrong!

Happy publication day to this beauty! A stunning free verse novel about a toxic relationship between a PhD student and a professor. Reid perfectly captures the nuance of the relationship’s dynamics. Very readable with a lot of stand-out imagery I fiercely underlined! @louisareid
