Rough night on call but the highlight was a patient and family asking me if I have my own practice/clinic and that they can’t wait till I do because they would definitely want to be my patients 🥹

For the past 4 days I keep hearing my epic notification sound in my head, but every time I look at my phone there’s no notification 😅

Last night an ED provider told me verbatim on why I should see a consult “their N/V is coming from the throat not the stomach” when I asked what they meant, they doubled down and said “ I listened to their stomach, it’s not coming from there”. Well I’ll be damned. #medtwitter

My wife is sick, so my mom told me I should look in her throat “if it’s red, it’s probably viral, if you see white spots on the tonsil, think bacterial”. Me, an ent resident 👁️👃🏻👁️. In my moms eyes, I will always be the baby 😅 no better doc than a Syrian mom lol #MedTwitter

Helped take care of a couple Syrian refugee kids this past week and the entire time, the mom smiled when I spoke. As they were leaving, she said in a very proud demeanor “I’m so happy to see you, a Syrian, becoming a surgeon”. This is why representation matters 🥹 #Medtwitter
