Very saddened to read this, having personal experience of being supported by this amazing charity. The support and information they provide is immeasurable and I feel for all the women who can no longer access it. I hope someone continues their excellent work.

Nothing screams bank holiday Sunday more than being woken at 5am to climb a really, really big hill. I almost…. almost lost it when I fell in a bog and panicked about never finding my way out again but it turns out that I may have just been being a little dramatic.

I wasn’t expecting to feel as emotional as I did listening back to this but we touched on some very personal inspirations and it was lovely to revisit and discuss some of the reasons why working in primary education is a real privilege. Thanks for having me, Matt!

I’ve spent today modelling for Visit England, specifically their food division. From 5am this morning I have eaten and drank at some of the best and most unusual hidden gems. I am being rolled home but it has been one of the best days of my life!

Willow hates the rain so we sheltered from the downpour only for her to opt for a river bath, which she loves. Logic, meet dog.

Oh London, it’s lovely to be back - what a welcome I got last night! Hugely excited for PiXL conferences. It’s Secondary today where I am talking with ShornyMalcolmson about disciplinary literacy and broadening students’ experience of reading.

I am so grateful to this one, he drove eight hours through the night to reunite me with my puppy when he knew I was missing them both so much. Back in our favourite place, with the sunshine, our kids and our dog and I can finally feel my whole body relax.

As we await her GCSE results, my pride for my daughter already knows no bounds. Her resilience, far greater than my own, has seen her through some challenging recent years with grace, tenacity and unwavering spirit. Whatever tomorrow brings, she’s already my hero.

I’ve joined a Silent Book Club and I’m buzzing! No talking, just reading… and coffee and cake magically appear! Is this what pure bliss feels like? 📚☕🍰

This! Precisely this! All reading is valid! 👏👏👏 the right text - whatever that may be, in the right hands, at the right time. I also think the space to share it as well is so powerful. The joy that can be found in a community of readers can create some incredible bonds.

Today was the perfect day to connect with the wonderful Sarah Hagger-Holt, talking all things inclusivity and children’s books. Thank you for being so generous with your time – I’m excited for everyone at PiXL to experience it!

I am very bad at sitting still as I feel guilty that I’m not doing something and there’s always something to tick off the to-do list. I’m trying to get better at this and I’ve found that I really, really enjoy painting. Who knew?! Anyway, here’s one I’ve done of my dog.

This was such an inspiring hour. I have always had the deepest admiration for my EYFS colleagues but this sharpened that. The passion, knowledge and willingness to share was wonderful!

I’m not saying it was divine intervention, but there was a passionate debate - both Jules Ruddick and I each had a favourite tree. Just as I championed mine, a rainbow appeared. Naturally, it sealed the deal. 🌈 Clearly, the universe has impeccable taste in trees.

Yesterday, Willow and I completed two separate climbs. I did 10 miles in total so poor Willow easily did around 14. You’ll note the marked difference between the first summit photo (highest I’ve gone so far) and the second, but they’re done!
