I’m so very pleased to announce the opening of the LIMS Marilyn Anderson Fellowship application La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science !!! in recognition of @ProfMarilynAnderson and in support of #WomenInScience Looking for high-achieving female scientist (level D) with a passion for molecular science
⭐⭐⭐ I’m delighted to share our new paper published in Nature Immunology on the immune system and cancer: rdcu.be/dWUq8 😊#jcsmr #anu #cancer #immunology John Curtin School of Medical Research, ANU ourANU ANU Media Research at ANU Science & Medicine at ANU 1/9
📢 Postdoc opening! 📢 Sorek Lab and HornungLab are looking for outstanding candidates for a position at the intersection of computational biology & innate immunity. Dive into impactful research across two dynamic fields. Interested? Let’s connect! 👇 genzentrum.uni-muenchen.de/career/postdoc…
Check out our new paper from the Kate Lawlor lab showing distinct roles for #necroptosis effectors RIPK3 (+ Caspase-8) that drives inflammation, and MLKL which regulates lipid handling in obesity-induced #MAFLD. In this study, Tye et al show how RIPK3-caspase-8 signaling induces inflammation to drive MAFLD, while MLKL noncanonically regulates lipid accumulation and metabolism to drive obesity and MAFLD. Check out our latest from WEHI (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute) A joint effort with James Vince’s lab and our RMH colleagues. Super proud of this epic built on ~1100 western blots. Full credit to the leads, Jiyi Pang and Aysha Al-Ani, our collaborators, and my coconspirators including Andre Samson
Very proud & excited to be socialising our preprint uncovering new mechanisms of epithelial cell death in IBD! Massive 4-year collab across WEHI (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute) & @RMH. Big thanks to the patients involved in this study and support from @NHMRC & Kenneth Rainin Foundation biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
This study [link] shows how necroptotic effector MLKL can induce obesity and perturb lipid metabolism to drive MAFLD progression, independent of RIPK3 that regulates inflammatory events.Kate Lawlor CiiiD Hudson Hudson Institute of Medical Research WEHI (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute) hubs.la/Q02Y1rNf0
🎉 Congratulations to our luminary of ACDS, Prof. Kate Schroder (Inflammasome Lab, Institute for Molecular Bioscience) on her incredible success in the 2025 ARC Discovery Projects! She has received an impressive $615,000 to validate a novel signalling effector that induces cell death. 👩🔬
Another big congratulations to our members for their success in the 2025 ARC DP: 👏A/Profs Kate Lawlor & Thomas Naderer Hudson Institute of Medical Research 👏Dr Kate McArthur (2 DPs!) 👏Prof Marco Herold Professor Marco Herold 👏Prof Tri Phan Garvan Institute of Medical Research 👏Dr Larisa Labzin Incredible achievements!🚀
Our amazing Vice President, 🌟Dr Sabrina Sofia Burgener Sabrina Sofia Burgener (Inflammasome Lab, Institute for Molecular Bioscience) has secured TWO ARC Discovery Projects totalling over $1 MILLION!!! Your hard work and dedication to advancing science are absolutely inspiring. We’re so proud of you, Sabrina! 🚀🎉👏
📢 World-leading Immunologists. The Nossal Endowed Chair of Immunology has just been announced WEHI (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute).
