This was always going to be Nigel’s decision. I don’t know why anyone’s surprised. He was always going to the US to support Trump, and never made any secret of that. But he wouldn’t be able to if he was a sitting MP. He was never going to stand.

The idea Sunak called the Election early because he’s “scared of Farage” is fantasy. If that was the case, he’d have chosen an October date, knowing Farage would then be in the US supporting Trump in the run up to the November Presidential Election, and couldn’t campaign here.

Rishi Sunak may have wrong-footed Labour, but he’s certainly wrong footed his own Associations, MPs and parliamentary candidates. He’s placed them at a significant disadvantage. At the same, time CCHQ are blocking great candidates such as David Frost and David C Bannerman . Bizarre.

It’s quite incredible that CCHQ have blocked two real conservatives - David Frost and David C Bannerman - from standing as parliamentary candidates. They’ve also blocked my membership. It’s as though they don’t want to be a conservative party anymore. What’s going on Richard Holden MP ?

I honestly don’t think we’ve got any politicians who know how to lead government. Instead of therefore appointing highly capable people to their staff to help, they appoint Chiefs of Staff who have no idea what a Chief of Staff is or should do and SPADS who are not knowledgable.
