After having to apologise to 100-year-old veterans this now has to be officially the worst election campaign by a political party ever.

But...and this is the killer...most of the people responsible for this Tory fiasco have just been rewarded with 'safe seats'. Let that sink in

I’m stunned at Sunak’s incredibly poor judgement. Political campaigning - the travel, media interviews and debates, meetings with party supporters, the briefings - is far more exhausting than most people can imagine but Sunak’s decision to leave the commemorations early is 🤯

I’ve not seen confirmation of the reason for Rishi Sunak absenting himself early from the D-Day commemorations but, if it was indeed to record an interview with ITV, he has demonstrated a staggering level of political ineptitude. He goes from blunder to blunder. Quite incredible.
