Question for high school athletes. If all you do is go to camps and tournaments all summer to try and show how good you are, when are you training to get better? More work is the solution, not more “exposure”.

D3 GIRLS POLE VAULT 🥇 Melinda Haagensen, Westboro, 12-07 🥈 Katelyn Winchester, Westboro, 9-06.00 🥉 Imani Curran, Westboro, 9-00 Safe to say the Westboro pole vault team is elite, as Haagensen repeats as champ. Boys took the T3 yesterday too. WHS Rangers @BostonHeraldHS

A lot of athletes focus on the sport skills over the summer but ACTIVELY neglect athletic skills They can’t sprint, stop, jump, or cut well And then wonder why they have so many soft tissue injuries The muscles and body aren’t ready to perform 🤷🏿‍♂️ TRAIN IT ALL

Huge congrats to Melinda Haagensen on finishing FIRST at New Englands in the Pole Vault. I cannot imagine someone more deserving - hard work pays off! I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to work with her.

With a clearance of 12’5.5, Melinda ties for 4th at New Balance Nationals. She is an ALL-AMERICAN! What a finish to her senior season! WHS Rangers

As the fall season gets underway, a reminder high school coaches should be pushing kids to play multiple sports. Kids should play multiple sports as long they enjoy it. “Focusing” on one sport does not make someone a better athlete or competitor or help them meet new teammates.

Research has found that sitting close to a high performer improved performance by 15%. Sitting close to a low performer decreased performance by 30%. Surround yourself with people who lift you up. thegrowtheq.com/good-vibes-are…

Okay track coaches. It's time to buy a new bag for the upcoming season(s). What have you used that you love? Also feel others have this question, so going to use I ❤️ T&F Coaches! to get the informal question out there. Links for purchase extra appreciated!

"The only way to get faster is by running faster" Does speed matter in your sport? Spoiler - it does. Come do track! Don't use his QR code though, that's for Nashoba.

He says football. But this is anything. Those that do what others won’t achieve what others won’t. Track, football, bocce, school, anything. Consistent and determined.

Annual reminder: if you don’t intend to have an athlete or a relay compete at Divisionals, please courtesy scratch them so someone else gets that chance to compete!
