If you’re wondering why so many people are sick right now, here’s your answerπŸ‘‡πŸ» People infected with Covid exhale high amounts of virus during the first 8 days after symptoms start, as high as 1,000 copies per minute - even those with only mild symptoms. news.northwestern.edu/stories/2023/0…

Henry Burridge Prof Cath Noakes #Ventilate 😷 πŸ’™ SAMHE Project Henry, I know you are heavily involved in the SAMHE project. I’m a huge fan of this project & think it has enormous potential to drive change. However, I have concerns about the way the data is currently presented as averages of averages, as I explain in my thread below ⬇️

Henry Burridge SAMHE Project Hi Henry, please could you help clarify what this chart is telling me to ensure I’m not misinterpreting the data? Is this telling me that, when the temperature is 5Β°C or below, it would be expected that at least 20% of classrooms would have a mean daily CO2 exceeding 1500ppm?

Henry Burridge SAMHE Project Hi Henry, given that you were showcasing your new model for assessing ventilation rates in classrooms, would a better headline conclusion for this paper be: ➑️ Whenever mean daily outdoor temp dropped below ~12°C, ventilation in classrooms fell BELOW the recommended minimum.

Henry Burridge SAMHE Project Hi Henry, sorry I have another question… Please can you explain the difference in the data between the two charts here? I believe both charts illustrate the full data set. I’ve added the colour bands to help illustrate the large differences in the values on the y-axis.

Henry Burridge SAMHE Project Hi Henry, I’m struggling to reconcile this finding… β–ͺ️A QUARTER of schools (48/190) had daily mean CO2 readings exceeding 1500ppm for >25% of days of the term. …with this reassuring statement: β–ͺ️ β€œMost schools-days of exceedance come from just a few schools”.

Maarten De Cock Henry Burridge SAMHE Project Henry, I just want to return to this point below… ⬇️ If you genuinely agree that a mean daily average of 1500ppm (which includes all the times when classrooms are unoccupied) is *NOT* an acceptable target to aim for, why does your paper focus so heavily on this single metric?

Last month #ThereForME sent a letter to Wes Streeting MP signed by 2,600 #ME #LongCovid patients & carers. On Friday we received a response. We’re disappointed he did not respond to us in person or commit to a meeting. We think patients deserve better. thereforme.uk/p/campaign-upd…

Our govt should be legislating for safe hospitals. Unions should be pushing for it. Grassroots staff should be calling on their unions and large charities involved with health should be too. Protecting staff and patients should not be a fringe concern!

Karen Hargrave Wes Streeting MP The letter from Andrew Gwynne MP says the Government are working to change the NHS into an organisation that not only treats illness, but prevents it. How can that be true when the Government is making no effort to reduce Covid infections? Clean air in schools would be an easy win.

Crikey, the guide says a CO2 reading of 2000ppm is "not necessarily harmful". necessarily doing a lot of heavy lifting there in an ongoing, institutionally denied pandemic 🧐

I'm so happy to be able to share this! It's SLIGHTLY dominated life over the summer - my house is a tip, the kids were abandoned & had to work on holiday.. but it's out. Just trying hard to achieve better air quality for kids in school. #CleanAirNow safeairschools.org

LONG COVID πŸ’₯ Healthcare workers WITH COVID-19 had 7 TIMES MORE SEVERE ILLNESS than NON-COVID-19 respiratory illnesses, and 8.8% of COVID cases had LONG-LASTING SYMPTOMS vs. 3.7% in NON-COVID cases. Great thanks for this study to thetranscendedman journalofinfection.com/article/S0163-…
