A GP colleague told me this morning that with no extra government funding to pay for the 3% pay rise for their clinical staff, GP partners have to fund it from their practice income, so he himself is getting… drum roll… …a 12% cut in his take-home pay. #divideandconquer

When I got a place at medical school I didn’t envisage 8 years later there being a mob in Trafalgar Square cheering the idea of hanging doctors and nurses in the midst of a pandemic. … it’s just all a bit… fucking awful isn’t it? Like just truly absolutely vile?

We’ve all had colleagues who’ve been patients on ITU and even some who’ve died as a direct result of treating this disease. Sorry for the language but I am absolutely fucking furious. They deserve better than this sort of hate speech being tolerated.

I will definitely lose sleep over this. I know, I need to grow a thicker skin. But ... this is so concerning. I am so deeply affected by what is being said in these protests today. It is not vague, or indirect. It is clear, and quite threatening.

When - and I mean when - the first doctor or nurse is murdered by someone radicalised to believe that we are all equivalent to nazi experimenters & deserve to die, *then* will police take action against those perpetrating this escalating hate speech? Must we wait til then?

These results are truly shocking and heartbreaking. They should make policy makers, leaders, government and the public stand back, reflect on our current position and work out how we move forwards. This needs to be a priority, now. #NHSgotyourback ?

We can’t thank Louise Bennett and Charlie Brittain enough for all their hard work this week at our Dancers Development Experience! Their energy and passion in the studio is infectious and is truly inspiring to our young dancers.

New guidance published today by #NICE on how to improve the experience of children and young people accessing healthcare. Some really important reminders of how we can engage with these patients on an individual level #paramedic #paediatrics #Ambulance nice.org.uk/guidance/ng204

I’m on my flight back to belfast and they said “any drinks or snacks” and I shouted “what is this, a cabinet meeting?” And everyone started applauding and they have let me have a go at steering.

Seeing an ⬆️ no. of tweets from #ambulance colleagues who feel frustrated & broken by new policies. I understand services are under pressure but if polices affect moral & don’t meet basic needs, service provision is going to decrease, therefore negating the policy change

If you agree that there should be a criminal investigation into how over 37 billion pounds was allegedly spent on Test and Trace please like and retweet.

Those arguing that “junior” doctors like me shouldn’t be well paid because we’re still “in training” and don’t yet have the skills and knowledge to deserve it should realise that I’ve had a license to practise medicine for longer than the Prime Minister’s had MP after his name.

One more Paeds ED Doctor and two more GPs needed for a PhD #paediatric head injury 🤕 research study! 🙏 Could you: ✅help in the design of a new clinical decision tool to support paramedics in managing children with head injury at scene? #Delphi 👉🏼[email protected]
