In case anyone needs to hear it, the NSF GRFP is not a measure of your worth or value as a scientist. In fact, several of the most successful (by traditional metrics) scientists I know did not get one. It's a nice award but not an indicator of future success.

SMBE satellite meeting on Molecular Evolution in Small Populations was so wholesome! Super inspiring to come together over our shared interest in conserving some of the most vulnerable populations. Going into my 3rd year with a renewed sense of purpose! 🐺🐋🐦‍⬛🦌🦣🦒🦎🐘🐅🐐
