Recruiting a post-doc and graduate student to study climate-induced bird range shifts in Midwest. We will work with NGOs and agencies to evaluate whether their protected areas can reduce the vulnerability of birds to climate change! For info: zuckerberg.russell.wisc.edu/opportunities/

🚨🚨🚨 NEW PAPER out today in Proc B! The Royal Society
Responses of wildlife to climate change are typically quantified at the species level, but are we missing important variation in thermal sensitivity over space (species ranges) and time (seasons)? royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/rs…

NEW PAPER! 🚨🚨 onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/ge…
In seasonal environments, migratory species can track environmental conditions throughout the year, going out of their way to experience the same weather all year long. Others stay put & experience a broad set of seasonal conditions. 1/7

🚨 The last chapter of my dissertation is now online and Open Access! 🥳

We show how a winter-adapted species uses snow as an important microrefugium, but warming winters and loss of snow cover may limit this important behavioral adaptation.
