Filled with a new hope I’ve never felt before that our field really will move forward! So inspired by moving talks from Nidhi Sachdeva, PhD Jamie Metsala 🇨🇦 researchED Canada

A heartfelt congratulations to Nidhi Sachdeva, PhD for her outstanding leadership in chairing this year’s ResearchEd2025 Toronto event. A dedicated group of experts inspired & reminded us why #DirectInstruction and #ScienceofLearning #SOL matters.

#rEDTO25 *Longer post later* but I can't believe what we did yesterday. It was MASSIVE. We achieved something incredible yesterday and it will created waves in Canadian education, I know it. I can feel it, I am seeing it. Thanks to EVERYONE who made it happen! Paul W Bennett

Teachers are expected to use evidence-based approaches and strategies- yet no one has ever trained us how to read and interpret research! Huge thanks to Anna Stokke who, this past weekend at the researchED Canada conference, shared this 1-page “red flags for education research” for

🚨 New episode! 🚨I get a lot of questions about universal screening in math. I invited Amanda VanDerHeyden Amanda VanDerHeyden back to the podcast to tell us all about & explain what makes a good screener, and why it matters. Listen here ➡️ podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/cha…

The cloudy skies and moments of rain did not keep our Red Willow PS families away! Thank you to our amazing Kindergarten team for organizing a wonderful Kindergarten (AND caregiver) Play Day. Our families & Grade 4 student leaders had so much fun with the K students!

A monumental feat of vigorous planning & rescheduling due to the rain - the Red Willow PS 2025 school wide Play Day was our best so far! Thank you so much to Phys. Ed teachers Bradi Mrs.Dogru (she/her) for an extraordinary year.

A glimpse from Friday’s Play Day — water balloons, big smiles, and core memories in the making. One week left with this incredible crew. Thanks Bradi for sprinkling your magic and heart into every part of the day. 💙☀️ Red Willow PS Peel District School Board Zohrin Mawji Lauren Beckford - Red Willow PS (1433)

After a year of diligently facilitating the Empower reading program on a daily basis, often twice a day - our Red Willow PS ESL teacher Sonia Chadha threw a pizza & ice cream party for all our successful readers! These kiddos are on their way! This is just the beginning.

And today G came out of her shell and sang the National Anthem for her peers and Red Willow PS families. We are so proud of her! Once again - thank you staff, students, and families for making today’s Grade 5 Farewell Ceremony a very hot but memorable one. 😊

Thank you to our Red Willow PS support staff & Grade 5 teachers who were here bright & early cutting fruit, preparing the atrium, and making pancakes for our four Grade 5 classes. Our way of seeing them off in a sweet way!

Another year in the books Red Willow PS and what a year it has been! On behalf of our office team & entire staff, we wish our students, families, and entire community a peaceful, healthy, and joyful summer. See you all on September 2! Lauren Beckford - Red Willow PS (1433)
