🧵Excited to share a preprint on sleep + memory transformation with co-first author Stephanie Simpson Brian Levine! Feat: •Controlled real-life event (art tour; N=174) •Testing memory for sequence vs perceptual info @ multiple timepoints up to 1 year •Overnight polysomnography🧠🛌
🚨 1/ We are hiring a research assistant in Berlin Max Planck Institute for Human Development ! We are a team of six postdocs from MPIB Berlin and UCL (no PI! 🤯) on a voyage to investigate developmental aspects of learning and generalization, looking for someone to help with running the project.
Excited that our review paper is out in Neuropsychologia. In a special issue on naturalistic neuroscience edited by Cory Inman Dr. Peggy L. St. Jacques Jesse Rissman sheldonmemorylab Congrats to grad students Taran Virk and Thierry Letendre on their first pub!!! authors.elsevier.com/a/1igXJ6TBF%7E…
🚨new paper🚨 with Lila Davachi لیلا دواچی ! CA3 subregion of the hippocampus integrate events based on context, while in parallel, dentate gyrus subregion pattern separates only items close in time and in the same context jneurosci.org/content/44/10/…
✨Highly recommended reading: Science Magazine has published an article on infantile amnesia, featuring the work of Sarah Power and her colleagues 👉science.org/content/articl…

I’m excited to share a new, long-in-the-making, theoretical perspective piece, written with Catherine Hartley in Nature Reviews Psychology. Here, we explore how models of meta-learning may inform our understanding of the developmental process. rdcu.be/dE8nQ 🧵
Proud of Erin Morrow for her amazing work on this project! Our findings suggest that unpleasant memories tend to blend together with similar neutral memories in anxious individuals. A riff off a clever memory paradigm by Brice Kuhl Avi Chanales
Congratulations Nora Newcombe 🤗
Introducing LEVANTE, a project for measuring children's developmental and learning variability around the world! LEVANTE provides a measurement platform with data flowing to an open repository. Call for proposals coming soon from Jacobs Foundation. levante-network.org
A fun review paper to write with Rebecca Spencer & our amazing postdocs -- highlighting recent work linking measures of brain development and sleep during development. 😴🧠link.springer.com/article/10.100…
A new paper from our lab: Dentate gyrus ensembles gate context-dependent neural states and memory retrieval | Science Advances science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… This work was led by Cesar Coelho (postdoc in my lab) and Andrew Mocle (postdoc in Sheena Josselyn lab). A brief 🧵. 1/n
Hugely excited that this work with Martin Hebart and Chris Baker is now out in Nature Human Behaviour !!! By moving from a category-focused to a behaviour-focused model, we identified behaviourally relevant object information throughout visual cortex. nature.com/articles/s4156…
