One of the first creature ideas I pitched at the start of Dragon was the Pinoceros, and it stuck! Erika & I went on a walk in the woods talking about the project, our early memories of playing pretend in the forest, favorite rpgs, and by the time we got back the pino was hatched!

This Project Dragon art has me both inspired and enraged at the same time. I feel so bad for the creatives, it looked like THE dream project. Fuckin' hell.

Good question! Sometimes Aaron Hammerstrom and ★ DEEGEEMIN ★ Phantom Riders Arc left me color refs for the Extreme Gear that they were referencing in the work files, and sometimes we all went with our gut! Same with the outfits for the bg characters, it was a mixture of the boys' color choices and mine!

PSA: I would rather your pitch have no art than have AI art. If your pitch has AI art, it is automatically going in the trash, as it's clear to me you have no respect for artists and their worth, which does not bode well for a working relationship with real artists.

The point of this isn't "Secret of NIMH is actually very adult and not for babies at all." Secret of NIMH *was* made for children. The point is kids can handle heavy themes, multifaceted stories, and etc. We should trust our kid-audience more when making content for them.

paultheass ✪ daniel barnes ✪ I don't think they need to try to be mature? Just not to be baby-ing the viewer. I feel like Avatar/Korra, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Batman TAS, Over the Garden Wall, Owl House, Steven Universe, og Teen Titans are examples of shows that anyone can watch and enjoy.
