During the growing season, grad student Ning Zhou from Prager Lab counts aphids in her legume plots. She sometimes finds Field Heroes like this ladybug during sampling!

After having a snack on some infected periwinkle at Prager Lab , Beastie the Bug took a selfie with an Aster leafhopper. This insect transmits a plant pathogen (phytoplasmas) that affects canola and other crops grown in the Canadian Prairies.

Beastie the Bug took the face mask off to eat these legumes before they get damaged by pea aphids! Ningxing Zhou works on the development of an economic threshold for pea aphids in legumes in Saskatchewan, 🇨🇦 Prager Lab

And in #lentil the ET was very similar (32 to 44) to the nominal threshold of 40 #peaaphids per sweep #soilscrops. Well done Ningxing Zhou Prager Lab Thanks WGRF Sask Agriculture
