First stop on our Genba visits, Ward 50 renal services. Thankyou to Alison and Lynda Mott who showcased #UHCWi methodology in their daily huddles and how metrics are used in their focus board aligning trust strategy to department objectives #BetterNeverStops

Our Chief Strategy Officer Justine Richards and strategy team engaged our visitors on how #UHCWi aligns to the strategic direction of our organisation, with a specific focus on how we utilised the 3P process in designing our new Coventry City Diagnostic Centre #BetterNeverStops

The Emergency Medicine team walked us through their Genba and showed our visitors the 5S of the ED store cupboard and how multidisciplinary daily huddles ensure staff are aligned to daily objectives with ongoing discussions around continuous flow #UHCWi

This week we held a Kaizen event to improve the transfer of patients from Theatres recovery to Ward 52. This saw the teams create standard work for the Co-ordinator to ensure effective and streamlined handover to reduce time and motion waste resulting in improved flow #UHCWi

Today is day 1 of RPIW 14.3 looking at speciality review in our Medical Assessment Unit, where colleagues from Acute Medicine, Gastroenterology and Respiratory have joined together to collaborate on improvements in the pathway, ensuring that the patient remains at the centre

5S strikes again, eliminating Waste for Ward 33 Endo. Using 5S to relocate storage closer reducing motion Waste. Visual Contols helped time waste. It helped them understand stock levels to prevent over ordering & Kanbans to support restocking. Thanks Jas,Pat,Jo & Marion

Another day, another RPIW. The first RPIW in the Chemotherapy Value Stream. The team will spend the week looking at the patient pathway from check in to my chemotherapy is booked. Today consisted of teaching and data exploration #RPIW16.1 #UHCWi

Today at stand up we heard from Emma & the Surgery group on how the team reduced the patient waiting list for urological procedures which saw a reduction in patient DNA’s & the team reflected on their learning on current processes to embed learning from what went well #UHCWi 💫

Whilst waiting for a family member to be seen in Outpatients Dept on Friday, I had the pleasure of celebrating HCSW day with this awesome team!! Feeling lucky to have worked alongside some of you and grateful for all the care you give my loved ones. Thank you 🥰❤️ xx
