The rain is finally trying to depart the state this morning. It’s been a slow process though. Heating of the day today probably yields new storms this afternoon (not as widespread). The weekend is looking great though, a big humidity front is on the way!

June arrives this weekend and we’ll have a much nicer feel to enjoy! A clean frontal passage will occur Friday night setting up a lower humidity, good feeling Saturday and Sunday. No, it’s not going to be cold but the mornings will be “cooler”. #lawx

Same story, different year. Typical Central American Gyre mess forms over the next two weeks. It looks like the Pacific side will get another storm out of this. A disturbance could form on our side around June 10-15th. It will get so much hype y’all so get ready! #lawx

A big plume of dust is working its way across the Atlantic and will pass through the Gulf next week. Its trajectory takes it right into SE LA around next Thurs/Fri. This will create lots of haze in the sky and make for some colorful sunrises/sunsets. #lawx

Enjoy those blue skies today because a haze will fill our sky soon. It’s coming from two different sources too. Canada is releasing a big batch of wildfire smoke, we will get some of that tomorrow. And then I talked about the Saharan Dust which arrives late next week. #lawx

Alvin is wrapping up in the Pacific, Barbara will be developing behind it next week. Keep it busy over there! Remember, it’s much harder for anything to develop in the Gulf/Caribbean if they keep forming over there.

Typical model bias early in the season is showing up next week. Forming a storm on the Pacific side and Gulf/Caribbean side is usually wrong. The Pacific storm will form. After June 10th moisture will pool near the Yucatán so maybe a disturbance forms mid month? #lawx

A G4 severe solar storm has started to impact Earth. The northern lights are going to push far south going into tonight. It should be noted this is not to the G5 level which allowed us to experience the northern lights last May. #lawx

Notice how the GFS keeps pushing the timing of a storm further back and trending it closer to Central America. A clear sign its bias of producing fake storms continues. Now if it keeps pushing it back week after week, eventually it'll be right and we'll get a storm. #lawx

The 1st National Hurricane Center watch area of the 2025 season goes to…a frontal low off the SE Coast. 😂😂 but, but, but there was supposed to be a hurricane in the Gulf. This my friends is why we’re always wrong because the misinformation in our industry runs rampant. #lawx

The Gulf Coast is hitting the air quality jackpot. The Canadian wildfire smoke is mixing with the Saharan dust from Florida over to Louisiana. #lawx
