NEWS: CM Trayon White, Sr.’s trial on federal bribery charges has been delayed to September 14. It was supposed to start on March 24, but a judge said an “unforced error” by prosecutors on turning over documents led him to support pushing back the date as White’s attorney requested.

One point: As of this week, close to 43,000 D.C. residents have filed their tax returns. It's now unclear whether they will have to file again, and if and when they might get refunds they are owed. "I would be frustrated if I had to pay my tax preparer again," one told me.

One other really important detail regarding when the 30-day congressional review period for DC’s temporary tax bill actually began: the transmittal was also literally printed in the House’s Congressional Record on December 30, 2025! Really hoping AG Brian Schwalb takes legal action

Looks like H.J. Res. 142 was formally presented to President Trump on Thursday, February 12, which means he has no later than *Tuesday, February 24, 2026* to sign it into law, take no action, or veto it:

New: It's deja vu all over again in DC now that Congress has again blown up the city's budget. Could DC get this blocked in court? Or maybe pass the tax changes blocked by Congress back into law somehow? It's all on the table. Here's what local leaders are debating right now:
